Tactics of reconquest of space
the #becomaravilha as collective construction of a place.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present a regain's tactical action of a forgotten space of Rio de Janeiro city through an intervention performed by students of Architecture, Arts and Design within the I Temporary Intervention Workshop. Questioning the role of the citizen in the transformations of the city, the workshop presented the temporary interventions and tactical urbanism as bottom-up actions capable of gradually transform public spaces. The action site was Travessa do Liceu, relegated public space in the recent transformation process of Rio's seafront, located on the dividing line between Conceição Slum and Mauá Square. From the discussions and immersion in the study's area object, #becomaravilha (“#fantasticalley”) intervention, collectively constructed by students, activated that use and meaning's empty space, allowing it to connect the slum's history to the revitalized Mauá Square's great equipment.
