The goal of this paper is to propose a taxonomy of visual resources, focusing on the color usage, in the context of digital games, illustrating a variety of solutions that make user experience more immersive and easy to interact. We evaluated solutions that have been used in the game industry, revealing alternatives that game creators can employ to enhance the player experience, using colors to communicate with players. As examples, the study classify various solutions in categories. These cases are analyzed and are divided by: color usage in items, enemies and characters, scenario, interface and color as the core mechanic. In each category the solutions are described and explained, to inform future projects. Digital games create patterns, and we tried to classify, identify and make them easier to understand.
