Abstract

The use of the internet as a means of research on contraception by users is observed. The article seeks to contribute to fill the gap in this topic through a survey carried out with women on their opinion regarding content, media, and ways of presenting information on the topic in digital media. Aspects of the representation of reproductive health information are presented, involving graphic representation styles, health information visualization and research related to user experience. The method used was the application of a questionnaire with women who use the digital medium to learn about contraception. The public showed preference for infographics and realistic representations, the “easiness” of an artifact being the characteristic most pointed out as desired. Credibility and desirability were pointed out as the biggest criticisms among users regarding the existing materials. Some recommendations are proposed for the design of graphic materials about contraceptive methods transmitted in the digital media for women, such as the focus on emotional characteristics of digital artifacts.
