The COVID-19 pandemic led many professionals to adopt remote work, which generated significant changes in their social lives and affected their physical and mental health. In the academic field, professionals also faced challenges when adapting to remote work. This research aimed to analyze the impacts of remote work on the health and well-being of professionals at a higher education institution. For this, a literature review was carried out, a virtual form was applied and the data obtained were analyzed. Around 52% of participants reported difficulties with social isolation, while 50% had difficulties balancing work and personal life. These demands resulted in fatigue and mental tension, mainly caused by anxiety and stress, harming the health of remote workers. Remote work proved to be highly challenging, especially when implemented abruptly without previous experience or training. Understanding the impact of the pandemic on the future of work can guide the development of sustainable and effective post-pandemic models. Measures such as psychological support, clear communication, flexible hours and improved infrastructure can contribute to a healthier and more productive remote work environment.
