Instead motor and sensory functions, human affective states are not absolutely mapped, constituting the object of countless studies and research by different areas of knowledge. Psychophysiological responses provide, due to increasingly advanced technology, more direct means of recognizing emotions. In this direction, the present study aimed to develop a systematic review of experiments with electroencephalographic (EEG) approaches to investigate the specificity of brain activity associated with different emotional states of human beings with the built environment. Thus, three articles were presented, selected for the analysis of methods and procedures used, which correlated the application of EEG in different situations of stimuli of the affective states of man. This work shared a deeper knowledge of this technique for evaluating human cognitive processes with the built space, intending to contribute to scientific studies, and as recommendations for future work.
