Abstract

This paper presents the results of a scientific initiation research conducted between 2018 and 2019 as part of a technological undergraduate course in Fashion Design. The objective was to sensorially evaluate a shoe developed based on the theory of conceptual fashion combined with the principles of ergonomics and universal product design. To identify the acceptance of the shoe and assess its ergonomic aspects, a sensory analysis with 62 potential consumers was carried out, where they were encouraged to try on the shoe, walk in it and then answer a questionnaire where they would do a rating concerning the comfort, safety, aesthetic aspects and the relationship of the product's form with the theme chosen by the designers using a 5-point Likert scale. As for the results, it was identified a maximum approval by the public for all dimensions questioned, both ergonomic and aesthetic-symbolic, suggesting the notion that it is possible to bring a product that fits within the conceptual notion with the ergonomic ones.
